About the artist
Born in Ukraine, Dar’ya grew up between Argentina and Montreal. From an early age, traveling, languages, and changes in her surroundings shaped her attentive view of the world around her. Observation became a way of inhabiting places, understanding people, and telling stories.
Trained in neuroscience at McGill, she developed a sensitivity to the way images affect perception, emotion, and memory. At 18, while still in school, she began taking portraits, then helping retailers and designers build their image through photography and video.
Today, Dar'ya works as a director and producer of visual content for artists, brands, and companies. Her approach is both intuitive and structured: creating a space of trust in front of the camera, capturing what feels right, and translating an intention into meaningful images. She pays particular attention to human presence, silences, and everything that cannot be put into words but remains perceptible.
She is currently pursuing studies in marketing in order to forge a closer link between brain science and visual communication. Her work lies at the intersection of these disciplines, giving each project a clear direction rooted in an understanding of image, perception, and intention.
