About the artist
Born in Ukraine, Dar'ya grew up between Argentina and Montreal. Early on, constant relocation, different languages, and shifting environments honed her keen observation of the world around her. Observing became her way of inhabiting spaces, understanding people, and telling stories.
With a background in neuroscience from McGill, she developed a keen understanding of how images influence perception, emotion, and memory. At 18, while still studying, she started shooting portraits, then moved on to helping businesses and creatives build their brand image through photography and video.
Today, Dar'ya works as a director and visual content producer for artists, brands, and businesses. Her approach is both intuitive and structured: fostering a trusting environment in front of the camera, capturing authenticity, and translating intent into meaningful visuals. She pays special attention to human presence, silences, and everything that goes beyond words but remains perceptible.
She's currently pursuing marketing studies to forge a closer link between brain science and visual communication. Her work sits at the intersection of these disciplines, giving each project a clear direction, rooted in understanding image, perception, and intent.
